We Are Singing and Playing at Libby’s Restaurant on December 20th–Join Us!

If you happen to be in or near Milwaukie, Oregon tomorrow night, join us at Libby’s Restaurant for a fun jam session!  Here is the information:

Cost:     No cover charge!  The restaurant is open and will be serving food and drinks during the event.
 
KJ and I will sing a couple of songs each from the Great American Songbook, but you never know, there may be some surprises.  There is a variety of music performed at this jam session, with a focus on traditional jazz but swing-style music also makes an appearance.  Not strictly a cabaret event, but many of the songs you will hear often also appear in cabaret shows as well.  Hosted for many years by John Bennett on piano and Jack Dawes on drums, the rest of the instrumentation varies from week to week, but typically there will be a complement of guitar, banjo, saxaphones, trombone, trumpet and more.  Casual atmostphere, and a fun evening–come join us!  This is your chance to hear KJ play the accordian–he’s entertaining!

A Recap On Libby’s Restaurant Jazz Jam Session

Just a quick note to let you know we had a lot of fun on Tuesday night at Libby’s.  This is such a casual atmostphere, just very relaxed and friendly.  There was a big house, and the audience was very responsive, which made it fun to perform there.  Kevin played his accordian well, and even threw in an Octoberfest song just because!  I sang “Shakin’ The Blues Away” and “I’ve Got A Feeling I’m Falling,” and it went pretty well–the audience seemed to enjoy it.

That’s all for now–we have band rehearsal later and I have to get some other things done!
